Pseudolaguvia austrina, a new species of sisorid catfish (Osteichthyes: Siluriformes) from Peninsular IndiaPseudolaguvia austrina, new species, is described from Kunthi River, a tributary of Bharathapuzha River originating from the Western Ghats in Peninsular India. It differs from congeners in having a pale brown body, a rhomboidal-shaped thoracic adhesive apparatus almost covering the entire thoracic area, a strongly projecting snout with the premaxillary teeth partially exposed when the mouth is closed, and a short (8.8-14.7 % SL), deep (10.3-14.7 % SL) caudal peduncle. This represents the first record of this genus from Peninsular India.
