‘Haplochromis’ snoeksi, a new species from the Inkisi River basin, Lower Congo (Perciformes: Cichlidae)‘Haplochromis’ snoeksi, new species, is described from a single locality, Ngeba village on the Ngeba/Ngufu River, a right bank affluent of the Inkisi River basin (Lower Congo; Democratic Republic of Congo). The species is distinguished from its riverine Congo River basin congeners by the following unique combination of characters: chest partially naked, i. e. without scales; 16 circumpeduncular scales; and an upper lateral line with 23 scales.
