Some shots of my CICHLIDS...

Some of You, may be still remember those Cichlid tank of mine and these “Red Albino Oscars Lovers”:

Now I will continue with some present shots of its inhabitants…
Beginning with the Golden Severums, one of the favorites of mine!

The first two shots was made with my “colored” tanks lightning (luminescent T5 - "Gro lux",”Aquastar”,”Aquarelle”, ”Coral star”)…
The last two – with external flashes (Canon Speedlite 430 and 580EX)

Here is another compares between shooting with EF 50 mm. f/1.8 II lens + tank lightning (the first two shots)
and EF 50 mm/f2.5 Compact-Macro lens + external flashes - Canon Speedlite 430 and 580EX(the last one shot)

Nice pic Aquasaur, what camera did you use? Is it manual mode?
Never imagine that Heros have so many teeth, multy lines, like salt water sharks,lol
I have 3 very young Heros myself, I'll post pictures later.

My camera is CANON 350D + two of my favorite lenses:
EF 50 mm/f2.5 Compact-Macro and EF 50 mm. f/1.8 II
In the beginning, I made my photos with a bright tank lightning
or used the camera’s flash with diffuser…
Next period, putting externally Speedlite 430EX over the tank…
And lately, I made my shots with Canon Speedlite 580EX situated over the tank,
wires connected with the camera in “master” mod
and Speedlite 430EX like straight “fill” flash (slave mod)…
The both are with diffuser!
Of course, using STE-2 TTL transmitter is more comfortable than the wires connection,
Especially, for the hole tanks shots!

My usual settings:
Shutter Speed: 1/200 seconds
Aperture Value: f/14-22(dependent on the fish specific and fishes position)
ISO Speed Ratings: 100-400(dependent on the fish specific)

I got 4 tanks like this: 135cm./55cm./70cm.(h)= almost 500 liters of water.
There is only a pair of Festivum there.

So, I decide to variegate this American cichlids series of my fishes
with some shots of African’s cichlids, which I was made being guest in a friend of mine…

Красавцы!
Интересно, у самки присутствуют признаки самца.
Не в первый раз я замечаю это у какаду. Кормление гормонсодержащей пищей не проходит для самок даром.
Ещё интересный факт - эти признаки пропадают только со второго поколения, да и сами рыбки становятся намного менее яркие.

And I got a question to Geo’s Experts – is this specimen is “Proximus” or some else…?
