Knaack, J. (2007):Abstract
A new species of the genus Corydoras is described – Corydoras longipinnis sp. n. – from the rio Dulce in Argentina (Teleostei: Siluriformes: Callichthyidae). The new species is charakterized by (1) a short south (8,7–6,9 times in sl, 2,3–1,9 times in hl), (2) the number of dorsal lateral scutes [21 (20–21)], (3) the number of ventral lateral scutes [19 (18–20)], and (4) the elongation of dorsal and pectoral fins in males. The differentiation of breeding specimens of Corydoras cf. paleatus with elongated dorsal and pectoral fins and the classification in the genus Scleromystax GUNTHER, 1864 is discussed.
